ASK A SEX ABUSE SURVIVOR (play)
A special performance for Penn students, faculty and staff.
PLEASE NOTE: This event is by INVITATION ONLY.
Childhood sexual abuse survivor Michael Broussard's interactive presentation utilizes a unique mix of storytelling, audience interaction and improvisation to spark a real-time conversation about the effects of sexual abuse on children and adult survivors. Broussard himself is a walking, talking case study, able to give candid answers to questions about the survivor experience from all stages of his life.
Panelists from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, and the Department of Psychiatry will lead a discussion afterwards on detection and treatment of sexual abuse. The one-hour performance includes feedback breaks throughout, during which audience members are encouraged to ask questions, make comments, or participate in any way they see fit.
Please note that some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
