Break Through Silence's Healing Arts Caravan Presents National G.O.E. (Growth. Overcome. Empower.) Day

    EVENT DESCRIPTION:

So many times victims of abuse are not given practical and real life examples of what surviving abuse looks like. While there isn't any one cookie cutter way in healing, we at Break Through Silence would like the opportunity in presenting different stories of survivorship from abuse and ways survivors have worked to their better days. It doesn't mean all days are better. It does mean they have a better way of handling and managing their days. And these victories, even the seemingly small ones should be celebrated. How we celebrate? We confront what was painful, speak on how we traveled through with artistic expression, presentations, share resource's and connect with good energy and good food!

ABOUT "ASK A SEX ABUSE SURVIVOR":

Childhood sexual abuse survivor Michael Broussard's interactive presentation utilizes a unique mix of storytelling, audience interaction and improvisation to spark a real-time conversation about the effects of sexual abuse on children and adult survivors. Broussard himself is a walking, talking case study, able to give candid answers to questions about the survivor experience from all stages of his life.

The one-hour performance includes feedback breaks throughout, during which audience members are encouraged to ask questions, make comments, or participate in any way they see fit.

Please note that some material may not be suitable for all audiences.
